Frequently Asked Questions

Is therapy right for me?

Seeking therapy is an individual choice. Therapy is not only vital during a time when a person is experiencing a crisis, but it often is the leading cause for beginning treatment. For individuals who are looking for a space to talk about daily stressors, relationship challenges, and difficulties at home or at work, therapy can improve anyone’s well-being.

How long will I be in therapy?

Therapy can last for weeks, months, or years depending on your personal goals. Everyone comes to therapy with different backgrounds, needs, and skills. It is a commitment to yourself and it takes time to gain insight. We do recommend a minimum of 6-8 weekly sessions.

How will I know if I am making progress?

At the start of treatment, you and your counselor will discuss your goals for treatment and your counselor will design a treatment plan specific to your personal needs. The treatment plan will include objectives, which are the steps you will take to reach your goals.

Do you accept insurance?

We encourage that you check with your insurance company to confirm what mental health benefits they provide. If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance company may be able to reimburse some of your investment in therapy. We are happy to discuss this further during your consultation.

What happens during and after the consultation?

Once we have mutually agreed that treatment with our center is a good fit we will schedule you for your initial session. We will then send you an email that will include a link to our client portal. There are a few documents related to our policy and a short questionnaire that we ask you to complete before your initial session.

What happens during the initial session?

During the initial session we will review the documents with you as well as review your treatment history, presenting symptoms, and personal goals for treatment. Before the session concludes, your counselor will schedule you for your next session.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, we offer virtual sessions on a secure and confidential online platform.
